RAM ltd is in the field of computerizing farming with the most successful pig farm management program in Greece, in a new state-of-the-art version of Pig Manager. The application is available in the form of SAS (Software as Service). This means availability from anywhere via the Internet, while its installation in Interworks' DATA CENTER ensures availability 99.99% and 24/7 support .
The following are brief descriptions of the programs for pig and livestock unit.
The design of the pig farm management program was based on existing commercial and similar programs in Britain, as well as programs of the research centers of the University of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Reading and was adapted to the special requirements of Greek pig farming. The aim of the program is to facilitate the day-to-day operations of a pig farm, to identify situations that cause a drop in production and to control the productivity of the unit .
In summary, the data of pig-mothers and capercaillies are recorded in a file which is updated with each change, (births-weanings-accesses-departures) and from which information printouts are immediately available such as: pigmother production report, population age control report, print of genetic compatibility test of pigs/boar, test of kinship report, etc. These reports make it easier to identify non-productive pig farms and make it easier for a pig farm manager to sort pigs.
The day-to-day operations of the pig farm are facilitated by the weekly work planning reports such as: pigmothers' status for transfer, pigmothers' status to return, pigmothers' status to be transferred to the delivery room, pigmothers' status to be weaned, breastfeeding status. The program also allows pig groups to be monitored from weaning to slaughter.
With this program, it is possible to evaluate the boars from the yields achieved by their offspring, the different food (diets and feed additives), the different breeds, the different management systems, and the different instillation systems, etc.
The program also provides the possibility of forecasting the production of the next five months. With the population distribution program, it is possible to monitor the unit regardless of the number of pigmothers, breastfed, growing, pre-thickened and thickened pigs.
